JEAN-YVES LEROUX, president
Medelys Laboratoires Inc.

  • M. Jean-Yves Leroux possess a strong academic training in immunology, biochemistry, molecular biology and cellular biology.
  • He holds a Ph.D. degree from McGill University.
  • He has occupied several post-doctorals position as research associate in internationally renown laboratories.
  • He has worked as well as a scientific expert consultant for pharmaceutical companies and he has over 18 years of experiences in the field of the biomedical research.
  • Along his scientific and academic career, he has contributed to new discoveries in the field of immunology which the importance was underline by his peers.
  • He is the author and co-author of many scientific papers published in first degree impact biomedical journals.
  • He has also given many seminars and conferences in prestigious international meeting in the field of medicine and science.
  • He has received many prestigious honour fellowships.

Mr. Leroux, comes from a well known family of entrepreneurs in Québec. He is the founder and president of Medelys Laboratoires Inc. since 1999, a society implicated in the development, manufacturing and distribution of medicinal herbs. For that, he has recently specialised in phytotherapeutic products. He has formulated new and innovative formulations of medicinal herbs extracts used in the official Chinese pharmacopea.

This experience has allowed him to touch many aspects of a startup business and to develop an expertise in the homologation of drugs products over Health Canada. He has also completed a complementary training in business with an MBA at the prestigious HEC in Montreal where he again has distinguished himself by receiving an honourship for his excellent grades and accomplishment in entrepreneurship.

The goal of Mr. Leroux is to contribute as a scientist and entrepreneur in the development and the knowledge in new approaches in therapeutics and diagnostics in cutting edge areas in health. Among other things, Mr. Leroux is committed in sustaining scientifically the new founded approaches in alternative medicines and he is convinced of the potential that this sector of health is offering and the medical potential that the products derived from extract of the vegetal and animal biomass can offer.
